General Information about the Turkish courses and the Turkish placement exam 2024-2025

The Turkish placement exam will start on 26th of September at 9.00 am, and it will finish on 27th of September at 9.00 pm. The exam will be online and students will take it at: https://odtuclass.metu.edu.tr/ They'll have 2 hours to do the exam.

Students who will take this exam must fill the registration form. The registration form will be shared on Turkish Language web site.

Note: There is no exemption from Turkish language courses!

There are 3 levels of Turkish lessons: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.

• If you get 0-34 points from the exam you will take 6420105 Beginner Turkish lesson with 4 hours in a week.

• If you get 35-69 points from the exam, you'll take 6420201 Intermediate Turkish lesson with 2 hours in a week.

• If you get 70-100 points from the exam, you'll take 6420201 Advanced Turkish lesson with 2 hours in a week.

Intermediate and Advanced levels' codes are the same. We seperate them with sections.

The students from Faculty of Education are adding Turkish Language with a different code. It is 6420107. But they are joining the lessons 105 or 201 according to their level.

After the exam, when we see the results I'll send surveys to students to set the days and hours of the lessons.

The lessons will start on 7th of October.

Students will add the courses at add-drop week. (7 – 11 October)

At all the Turkish lessons attendance is compulsory.

IMPORTANT: To be enrolled in the right level, try to solve the exam with your own knowledge. In case you have no Turkish background, try just to submit the exam without giving any answer to any questions. It is very very important to show your Turkish level correctly. If you don't, the lessons will be very difficult for you.
